Salana is a unique boat. Having the fortune to have worked with an ex board-member of Bavaria, he mentioned that the Bavaria 46 was the last quality boat that Bavaria built before their recent troubles. And you can tell it.
On deck, she has loads of cockpit and deck space to relax in. She is responsive in the water for a boat her size plus you can very easily travel from bow to stern without bothering the crew, making her a joy to skipper. She has a sugar-scoop stern making jumping in and out of the water a breeze. Plus you can wash off the salt water using the stern shower. In the forward deck space, there is a padded lounge area for you to chill on or we can put the double hammock up for snoozing in. We have also recently upgraded the ondeck speaker system meaning your favourite tunes could be playing via bluetooth whilst we have sundowner drinks.
Down below, there is luxurious hardwood throughout the cabin and lounge space. making it a charming space to live in. None of the light, IKEA-type wood you see in modern production boats. Her cabins are spacious and brightly lit. They feature a king-sized bed, a wardrobe and seating space. There is a very spacious guest bathroom with a powerful standing shower. The living area has a large U-shaped galley, a large seating area which can be converted into a day bed or a large king sized bed for extra guests. We have decorated the boat in a manner you wouldn't find on any other boat and will make you feel at home straight away. We also have a pop-up home cinema meaning if you fancy a quiet night in, we can put a movie on. In the kitchen, there is a generous fridge and separate freezer meaning ice and cold drinks at all times.
Technically, she has radar, satellite navigation and an AIS Class A Transponder (so people at home can track you and you can track boats around you). We have a Wifi system on board meaning we can join Wifi hotspots when near shore. It also means you can watch our sailing progress on your phone or tablet. We have solar panels on deck to keep the batteries charged. We have a generator so we can run normal household appliances as well as the watermaker. The watermaker turns salt water into drinking water meaning our water usage isn't limited like other boats.
Safety wise, she has been fitted out to the strict standards of the RYA. We have a 10 person liferaft, floatation aids, emergency beacons, flares, etc. I won't go into too much detail here but if you would like to know more, please ask.
This list isn't exhaustive as we are continually upgrading, maintaining and improving Salana. Our boat is built for cruising but adapted for long term comfort.
